Acer, Asus and HP made significant announcements at Computex 2014 today in Taiwan.

Computex is largest ICT trade show in Asia and the second largest in the world. It attracts over 130,000 visitors and 1,700 exhibitors using 5,000 booths.

ASUS made eight announcements at their press conference today in Taiwan.

They included a new 8-inch Fonepad, a new Transformer Book V powered by both Android and Windows, and a super-slim Transformer Book T300 Chi. All of those are powered by Intel processors.

• The Transformer Book T300 features LTE and a 2560?440 IPS display in a 12.5-inch panel. ASUS is only saysing it uses an Intel next generation CPU and low power Core micro-architecture, like the Transformer Book V.
  
• The Transformer Book V is named for its ability to run in five different modes. You can use it as an Android phone, tablet or laptop; or you can switch it to a Windows tablet or use it as a notebook. It will have up to 64GB of onboard storage, and has 2GB of RAM. The phone part comes with a 5-inch display and will have LTE onboard. Both parts are powered by Intel
  
• The 7.3mm thin 12.5-inch Transformer Book T300 Chi sports a super high-resolution display of 2,560?,440-pixels, comes with 4G connectivity and runs Windows 8.
  
• The 8-inch Asus Fonepad is larger than your face and sports a 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor, dual-SIM, 3G connectivity and an 8-inch 1,280?00-pixel display. It should be relatively affordable in the $300 (£180) range.
  
• Asus Zenbook NX500 looks a lot like Apple’s MacBook Pro, and has an Intel Core i7 quad-core processor with a Nvidia GTX 850M graphics card. But the standout feature is its 4K screen, which has a 3840 by 2160 pixel resolution.
  

Acer at Computex focused on Android smartphones.

• The Liquid X1 has a 5.7-inch 720p display and uses MediaTek’s MT6592 eight-core processor.
  
• The Liquid E700 and E600 are both based on a 5-inch IPS display. But the E700 has a 720p display, MediaTek MT6582 processor, and supports up to three SIM cards. The E600 has a lower resolution display but uses a Snapdragon 400 chip with 4G LTE wireless.
  
• The Liquid Z200 is a more basic model with 4-inch WVGA screen (480 by 800 pixels) and MediaTek MT6572M dual-core chip.
  
• Acer also provided more details on the Liquid Jade smartphone and Leap smartband. The Jade has a 5-inch 720p display and uses MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor. The Leap has a 1-inch touchscreen and can display incoming calls and texts; control music playback on a smartphone; and track steps, running distance, calories burned, and sleep cycles.
  
• The Acer Iconia Tab 8 Tablet features Full HD Display with an Intel Atom quad-core processor.
  

HP at Computex focused on 2-in-1s. HP is still one of the world’s largest PC sellers but emphasized 2-in-1s, including models with hinges that rotate all the way backwards, and detachables, Chromebooks and the long-rumored SlateBook Android laptop powered by an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor. HP’s back-to-school PC lineup has already been announced.
