Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest mobile show, officially opened today. Check out the activities for Day One, or view the news sites that are covering the hundreds of new products that are being introduced this week, both for mobile providers and end users.


Some of the major news sites covering MWC include, C/Net, Engadget, The Verge, Fierce Wireless, PC Magazine, RCR Wireless, Android Community, Extreme Tech, The Next Web, ArsTechnica, , ZDNet and others including Google News, Yahoo News and TechMeme.

The 4 major mobile infrastructure providers, Ericsson, Huawei, Alcatel-lucent,
Nokia Siemens Networks, are being joined be new competitors including ARM and Intel who are planning Cloud RAN, using data centers to host basestations.

Samsung will unveil its Galaxy S5 at 2PM ET / 11AM PT today. Samsung’s S3 and S4 have been the best selling Android smartphones. But device competiton is heating up with HTC, Nokia, Huawei, Lenovoa, ZTE, Microsoft and Alcatel showing new devices.
